Nora Pou

Community Justice Attorney Fellow

Nora Elisa Pou is an experienced educator and attorney who joined the Center for Law and Education (CLE) as the Community Justice Attorney Fellow in the fall of 2025.

For the five years prior to joining CLE, Pou worked as a general attorney for the U.S. Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid Enforcement Unit. In this role, she reviewed and adjudicated Borrower Defense claims. Her legal experience also includes assisting clients with consumer, family, and housing disputes at a legal services organization. She has also coached pro bono attorneys representing families with special needs children to help them access educational services.

Pou’s career includes extensive experience as an educational leader. This experience gives her a deep understanding of the day-to-day work of school districts and the practical implications of state and federal laws concerning the diverse student populations they serve. In her many educational leadership roles, Pou secured support from business, community, government, and private organizations for various educational initiatives. These included projects focus on revamping curriculum to meet state standards and implementing professional development plans for teachers. Pou led a Dual Language Program in a culturally and racially diverse section of Boston. The program became a preferred choice for parents seeking a multicultural and multilingual education for their children.

As a Community Justice Attorney Fellow at CLE, Pou will aim to use her skills to protect student privacy, to ensure immigrant / migrant students have prompt enrollment in public schools, and to promote access to high-quality education for this student population.
