The goal of the Right to High Quality Education For All (RHQEA) campaign is to establish a trained and supported community of advocates in different legal services offices across the state to maximize the delivery of efficient legal resources to challenge and remove systemic barriers that impede students from low-income families from obtaining an authentic, high-quality education, to which they are entitled, that prepares them to be successful adults. CLE received funding for this campaign from the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation. In coordinating the RHQEA campaign, CLE has provided project participants with live interactive sessions addressing key federal and state education statutes and civil rights laws as well as additional seminars on the use of CLE’ s Educational Quality Bill of Rights as a method for change. CLE has supplemented the workshops through structured group conversations with project participants and continues to meet with individual legal aid organizations about possible strategies and approaches in challenging, for example, disparate educational outcomes based on race, ethnicity, and / or language status.
