CLE is delighted to welcome Chris Yarrell to the CLE team. Chris is primarily responsible for leading the Right to High-Quality Education for All (RHQEA) project. The central aim of this newly-funded project is to increase the capacity of free legal assistance in education law provided by participating field programs and state support organizations so that, together, we might more effectively and efficiently identify, challenge and remove systemic barriers that impede low-income (eligible) student-clients from attaining a high-quality education. Chris began his career as a City Year AmeriCorps member, serving as a 7thand 8th grade ELA and math tutor, respectively. In 2014, he joined the NYC Department of Education as a Community Coordinator, helping families and community-based organizations navigate the Pre-K application and enrollment processes. Chris continued working in various capacities within municipal government, most recently serving as a Policy Adviser and Director of External Affairs within the NYC Office of the Mayor. Chris is a recent graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a Virginia Public Service Scholar and member of the Raven Society. He earned a B.S. from the University of Georgia and an M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University.
