CAPS Chat events: Throughtout the year, CAPS will hold chat events focused on issues, legislation or other matters that may be of interest to parents, teachers, students and other key players in providing high quality education for all students. Below you will find links to both the schedule of CAPS Chat events as well as agendas or training materials that are related to the events. On the day of the event the chat room will close approximately one hour before the event and reopen 10 minutes prior to the start time of the event. During the CAPS Open House, you can enter the chat room through the CAPS Tour section of the CLE website. Following the National Open House (after May 30, 1999) you can enter the chat room only through the CAPS member path of the website. Before you enter the chat room you will be prompted to provide your name and your profile. Any name will work, it can be only a first name for instance. We would appreciate it, if in the profile area you will tell us how you primarily view yourself in terms of CAPS membership categories (parent, student, teacher, administrator, advocate or any description that you feel is accurate). Upon entering the chat room you should notice that there will be at least two names already present and listed in the right hand column. These names will be both the presenter for the session and the CAPS facilitator. At the appointed hour, the facilitator will introduce the presenter and get the event started. When it is time for discussion or Q & A the facilitator will recognize participants in the order (top to bottom) that they appear in the right hand column. CAPS Chats are limited to a small number of participants. Therefore, if you attempt to get in the chat room for an event and are not admitted, please email us at ldavis@cleweb.org and let us know that you could not get in. If a significant number of people are unable to participate, we will attempt to schedule another session on the same topic with the same presenter. You will be emailed the time of the additional event. Training materials, handouts etc... |
