JOIN NOW! Together we can make sure that every child receives a high quality education!

CAPS (Community Action for Public Schools) is a national network of people working to improve the quality of public education. CAPS membership dramatically increases your network of information, resources, contacts, advocacy strategies and school reform models.

  • Legal rights to obtain a high quality education
  • What parents need to know about new higher standards for students
  • Ways families are involved in children's learning
  • Title I: Basic tools for quality education
  • Title I: How parents must be involved
  • Vocational Education and School To Work programs
  • Rights of students with disabilities: Section 504
  • Rights of students with disabilities: IDEA
  • FERPA: Seeing and correcting school records
  • Parents rights to control private information in school

In addition, CAPS members receive a newsletter in the mail every two months that is filled with information about how to improve schools and what your rights are to a high quality education. These newsletters are archived here!
