CLE Internship Opportunities
Law Clerk Needed -- Washington, DC
Just like most other non-profit organizations in Washington, the
Center for Law and Education desires a volunteer law clerk. The
psychic satisfaction you get from this position won't keep your
landlord at bay for more than three seconds, but the experience will
be invaluable. You'll work with one of the nation's premiere education
advocacy organizations, advancing quality education for all students.
You'll work with experienced, sophisticated advocates who will love
you for lightening their loads and who can write sterling letters of
recommendation. You'll do substantial work on substantial issues.
You'll get to test your interest in entering the non-profit advocacy
world.
We will put effort into helping you develop your skills as an
advocate. We prefer a commitment of at least ten hours per week for at
least one semester. These hours do not necessarily need to be spent at
our office, but regular visits to the office will be necessary. For
summer internships, we need a commitment of full or nearly full-time
for at least eight weeks. Some experience with legal research and
analysis is necessary for you to do the envisioned work. Some
experience in education law or practice will speed your way.
Interested? Submit a cover letter explaining your interest, a
resume, and a writing sample to Intern Coordinator, Center for Law and Education, 1875
Connecticut Avenue, NW, Suite 510, Washington, DC 20009, or via e-mail to pweckstein@cleweb.org.

explaining their interest, a resume and a legal writing sample to

Graduate and Undergraduate
Student Volunteers Needed -- Boston and DC
The Boston office of the Center for Law and Education needs students
who can assist us in incorporating education and social science
research findings into our legal advocacy on behalf of low-income
students and parents. Volunteers with strong research, writing and
analytic skills are needed to survey articles and studies in a variety
of areas. Students will work with CLE attorneys, and will have the
opportunity to gain an understanding of how education and social
science research findings can be used in connection with legal
advocacy to enforce rights under various laws governing public
education.
